Abstract

To say that the corporate reforms of 1978 and China’s subsequent entry into the World Trade Organization (WTO) have shaken up the economy is an understatement on a par with “Enron was a bit of a blow for the US”. This has brought about massive change for organizations both home and abroad and has revolutionized the Chinese way of doing business. Achieving a staggering average growth rate of 10 percent over the last 20 years, we continually hear about the increased opportunities within the country and its potential to become the next Asian superpower, but what is the current state of play in China?
