Co‐makership: The Japanese Success Story in a British Environment

Abstract
The philosophy of co‐makership as practised by Nissan UK is described. The necessary precursors to successful co‐makership are outlined and the way in which co‐makership is embodied in the “Nissan way” of manufacturing is discussed. The importance of the workforce in the process is emphasised.
