This is the final phase three of a three‐part venture which started with the landbreaking Auditing into the Twenty‐first Century (ICAS, 1993) and continued with The Future of Corporate Governance: Insights from the Netherlands (ICAS, 2000). The present volume is very much concerned with the practicalities of implementing the findings of the 2000 report, as well as reflecting the more recent developments. Issues arising from various recent landmark reports are commented upon, notably the Blue Ribbon and the Turnbull Reports. There is an insightful Summary, Conclusions and Recommendations which masterfully brings all the diverse strands together. The quotations are instructive in highlighting the views of both the main actors and stakeholders, and the relations between them, such as internal and external audit. This series has been invaluable in summarising the issues, and suggesting the current state of the art and possible ways forward.
