Abstract

Librarians are key players in facilitating student learning in higher education. This has always been true, but recent trends in student behaviour and technological change have made our role even more significant. This is the message of the following papers. The development of mass higher education at the time of an information revolution has made information skills one of the most important of the key skills which all students need to get a good degree and succeed in whatever career path they follow. New electronic developments, especially individual student learning environments, can transform the student experience.
