On the Quest for Knowledge and the Duty to Know
Abstract
The “social” component of economics comprises environmental concerns, employment needs, developmental musts and any agenda that results from differences in economic systems. Why is there so little in common between problems raised in the textbooks and the tools and objectives emerging from established economic theory? It is concluded that, although we cannot always predict the outcomes of our actions, we should be aware of the underlying dangers and of the limitations incumbent on their pursuit.
