Abstract

Claims that the perception of human beings as resources is out of date. Interspersed with discussion on the faults of the term human resource management and advice on how to manage talent better, are four examples of European companies which are taking an active role in creating a new paradigm for people in the workplace. Concludes that companies must look on employees as real partners and act on the statement, “People are not mere resources”.
