Abstract

Outlines how management development was delivered for Beefeater managers in Whitbread Restaurants’ accredited corporate business school. Explains the business context, the aims of the learning designs and some of the issues that arose from the viewpoints of both learner and delivery team. Considers some issues about planning, facilitating and delivering learning from the literature. Captures the key lessons from this ongoing case study of organizational learning into an operational continuum model of key issues to be considered before, during and after an in‐company learning activity. Offers conclusions for planning and managing corporate business school learning programs.
