Abstract
Purpose
Examines the role of the ten‐strong global assignment management team at Credit Suisse, a leading global financial services company.
Design/methodology/approach
Contains information gathered by the author in a presentation to journalists at the bank's Zurich headquarters by Denise Stüdi, global head of human resources, and Ottavia Salis Gross Hanna, who heads the global assignment management team.
Findings
Reveals the reasons why recruiting global talent is so important to Credit Suisse and the way in which the global assignment management team manages the process.
Practical implications
Highlights the potential rewards for companies – and whole countries – that perform well in the global war for talent.
Originality/value
Contains plenty to interest large firms, particularly those operating in countries where the domestic labor market is small, or in sectors with particularly severe skill shortages.
