Abstract

Briefly outlines the purpose and use of turbo boards (processor upgrade boards) in response to reader enquiries. Explains the characteristics of the two basic types: accelerator boards and replacement motherboards. Assesses the viability and cost involved in installing turbo boards, suggests that in most cases it is recommended to invest in new technology, rather than try to upgrade older workstations and microcomputers.
