Rapid production and reduced costs through Aylesbury Automation assembly systems have brought fresh orders from international manufacturer Seaquist Loffler.
Seaquist Loffler is a leading supplier of high quality dispensing and speciality closures, and has developed a large variety of innovative closure designs and operation methods to provide customers with flexibility in package design. Assembly expertise has been key to this success.
Disc top closures are increasingly popular, especially in the cosmetics industry, as they offer one handed convenience and are available with decoration and two colour design. Seaquist Loffler took a decision to create a new production facility in 1999 to manufacture disc top caps in the UK (Plate 8).

The facility has been designed to meet large orders from a multinational customer - quality and speed of manufacture are critical issues.
Seaquist Loffler have worked in the past alongside engineers from Aylesbury Automation to devise a solution to a problem in disc top assembly and the resulting system has worked well.
The new order is for an Aylesbury Automation advanced assembly system to put together the plastic injection moulded parts of the closure securely and rapidly in the production line. The system will run at a rate of 70 parts a minute.
The system has been designed so that an in-line hot foil printing facility can be incorporated to provide an integrated production process for the finished product.
