Pangborn UK Ltd, the supplier of blast cleaning and surface preparation systems, has supplied a Rotoblast 4LK Table blast cleaning machine to PSS Steering and Hydraulics Ltd, a supplier of remanufactured power steering and hydraulic equipment for commercial vehicles.

PSS disassembles, reconditions, and remanufactures part-used equipment at its manufacturing facility in North Walsham, Norfolk, UK. To enable the equipment to be disassembled prior to reconditioning, it is blast-cleaned to remove adhered paint and rust. Prior to acquiring the Pangborn Rotoblast Table, the company had been using an aqua-blast system to perform this initial cleaning.

Using the Pangborn Rotoblast Table, the work is placed inside a manganese steel cabinet and blasted with abrasive. The revolving table ensures that abrasive reaches every part of the component to be cleaned.

It is claimed that the Rotoblast 4LK Table can handle a wide range of miscellaneous parts in one load. Equipped with a 15hp direct drive, Rotoblast abrasive throwing wheel, abrasive is directed evenly over the entire table for maximum blast efficiency and faster cycles.

In addition to removing contamination from the assemblies, abrasive blasting with the Rotoblast 4LK Table also provides a surface suitable for painting of the remanufactured products.
