We are informed that following on from the conference "Corrosion in natural and industrial environments: problems and solutions", held in Grado on 23-25 May 1995, NACE International - Italia Section and AIM are co-operating to organise a new event, to be held in Venice, from 17-19 May 2000. The declared object of AIM and NACE Italia is to favour the exchange of information between researchers and technical personnel in the industry, on topics related to the solution of corrosion problems. An object, readers will agree, worthy of the fullest support.

The conference, we understand, will focus on corrosion problems and solutions that may result in the industrial application of scientific and technological achievements. It will be a contribution to the implementation of high technology in the solution of practical corrosion and maintenance problems. In particular, it will encourage the diffusion of knowledge at the highest available technical level.

Conference topics will include corrosion problems and solutions in the different fields of power generation, petrochemical and refiner industries: failure analysis and case histories, high and low temperature corrosion, corrosion-erosion, risk-based inspection, material selection, coatings and painting, life extension, inspection and maintenance, computer in corrosion, monitoring prospective.
