Metal finisher may be moving site

Metal finisher may be moving siteKeywords: East Anglian Galvanizing, Metal treatment

East Anglian Galvanizing Ltd, based in Peterborough, UK, reports that it is laying foundations for the future and is planning major redevelopment which could mean a move to a new site. A special project team has been set up to look at the best option for ensuring that the expansionist firm remains at the forefront of the metal finishing industry in the decades ahead. The company also informs us that this investment is likely to top £3 million.

It is being made against a background of changing market trends and continued business growth for East Anglian, which is equipped to hot-dip galvanize a wide range of components, from nuts and bolts to communications posts, and from farm fencing to vehicle chassis, all to stringent EN ISO 1461 British Standard.

The project team, comprising local management and representatives of the "parent" Wedge Group Galvanizing, has set searches in motion for a new location, as an alternative to further developments at the existing two-acre site at Wareley Road, close to Peterborough city centre.

Present premises opened in 1968 and comprise two separate galvanizing plants, one with a galvanizing bath 8m long, and the other for processing small items in bulk and pieces up to half a metre in length using centrifugal spin. There is a 40-strong workforce.
