Phoenix in probe deal with AEA technology

Phoenix in probe deal with AEA technologyKeywords: Phoenix Inspection Systems, AEA Technology, Ultrasonic, Probes

Phoenix Inspection Systems, the ultrasonics specialist, is to take over the manufacture of probes on behalf of AEA Technology.

The two companies – both based in Warrington, UK – have agreed a deal to centralise probe production at Phoenix, with the obvious benefits of increased volume production being passed on to end-users.

Phoenix managing director, Karl Quirk, said: "Phoenix has a growing international reputation as a manufacturer of non-destructive testing equipment and this latest deal is testament to its expertise in probe production and the quality of its products. The agreement will be beneficial for both parties, in terms of improved efficiency and greater economies of scale".

As part of the deal, Phoenix will also be manufacturing Sonomatic's Fleximat, a flexible transducer array for corrosion monitoring.
