The high performance positive displacement flow meters available from Tuthill Transfer Systems are designed for use with a wide range of fluids in the chemical/petrochem, food/pharmaceutical, industrial, agricultural and processing markets as well as commercial and municipal services. These are described as precision products, with models substantial enough for use with high viscosity and corrosive media. A wide range of performance and design options are available including aluminium, PVC or stainless steel construction. Pressures in excess of 300 bar can reportedly be accommodated covering flow rates from 0.08 to 1,325 litres/min with accuracy on some products of ± 0.25 per cent or better. They are believed to be ideal for batching, blending, process control and the general management, handling and measurement of liquid products including tank monitoring.

The Stealth and 500 mini series meters all feature well proven oval gear technology, with models suitable for use in hazardous areas also being available (Plate 2). Products can have mechanised or electronic registers or a pulsed output. They also feature stainless steel, Hasteloy or other metal shafts, with either Viton or Teflon seals and connection thread sizes from 1/4" to 3" NPT/BSPP. Economy, reliability, accuracy and low maintenance are said to be built-in advantages for all these products which are designed for petroleum and industrial chemicals or fluids.

A range of nutating disc meters can also be supplied. These cover flow rates from 15 to 230 litres/min at pressures up to 67 bar. These are also designed for use with general industrial fluids and petroleum derivatives, with models available for corrosive liquid applications. Optional features include mechanical or electronic registers including four digit reset and up to eight digit non-reset totalisers. Field calibration, pulse output, positive reset and gearing for various viscoities are also offered. A wide range of systems and accessories including intrinsically safe batch controllers can also be supplied.
