The Murfreesboro, TN facility of Paulo Products Company has successfully achieved all necessary requirements of the new DaimlerChrysler – Chrysler Group heat treating standards for externally threaded fasteners and is in full compliance with this new standard. The new requirements are part of a DaimlerChrysler continuous improvement initiative, and complement existing standards for all Tier 1 and sub-tier heat treaters of threaded fasteners.
The new requirements include automated furnace and generator controls, and carbon potential alarm systems to be inplace on belt furnaces. Paulo-Murfreesboro has long utilized automated controls and systems such as these, and are in fact standard features throughout all Paulo facilities. Additionally, an infrared gas analyzer is used to verify each furnace and generator atmosphere. An infrared pyrometer alarm system is also utilized to detect for undertemperature parts. Paulo's compliance with these new requirements will provide assurance to all Paulo customers that their fasteners are being heat treated to the very highest standards.
