Pantheon Chemical announces partnership with the EPA's Design for the Environment Program

Keywords: Environmental health and safety, Coatings technology

Pantheon Chemical, a phoenix-based business, states that its flagship product, PreKote brand surface pretreatment, has been formally recognized by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Design for the Environment (DfE) program for the safety of its formulation. The DfE's acknowledgement, the first in the conversion-coating sector, ensures that each ingredient in the PreKote technology has been carefully screened and the formulation has a more-positive human health and environmental profile than conventional surface pretreatments.

The DfE program consists of a variety of partnership programs, including automotive refinishing, furniture flame retardancy, industrial and institutional laundry, and the formulator partnership in which Pantheon Chemical is included. Pantheon Chemical appears to be in good company, with current DfE partnerships with well-known companies such as Hewlett-Packard, Intel and Pitney Bowes.

The DfE program not only gives partnering companies the advantages of recognition but also is available to all businesses as a resource when searching for alternative companies or products with positive benefits in human health and environmental protection. Pantheon Chemical customers in the aerospace, military and marine sectors and others implement PreKote technology for its properties but also act as secondary participants in the national effort to protect the environment and safeguard human health.
