Potential energy savings for coil processing lines

The world’s largest in-line organic paint section, DVL 2, at Corus, Ijmuiden, is nearing completion.

With the world’s highest production capacity NIR® curing oven already fully installed and commissioned by manufacturer AdPhos AG, one of the World’s leading suppliers of accelerated drying systems, the line will be in production by late Summer 2006.

AdPhos also recently built and installed the World’s fastest colour coating line, CCL-2, at Shree Precoated Steel in India. This fully NIR® based line for chemcoating, primer and topcoats will complete commissioning in the spring.

These high performance NIR® coating lines are far less affected by the recent enormous increases in energy costs than standard coil coating process lines; the potential savings in process operation costs have strongly influenced the recent awarding of several more contracts to AdPhos for NIR® systems.

AdPhos’ specialised NIR-CoilDry technology provides high system efficiency, with faster production, reduced PMT, increased controllability, higher heat efficiency and better reproducibility than conventional drying processes. In addition, NIR-CoilDry is powered by electricity, rather than gas.

With energy cost control becoming increasingly important, AdPhos is now offering a special free evaluation service to assess the energy saving potential for coil processing lines.
