Chrome plating increases bearing life

Keywords: Bearings

Roller bearings for vibrating screens given longer service life by using a thin- layer chrome-plated bore to improve the displacement of function of the exciter shaft.

Spherical roller bearings from Schaeffler (UK) for vibrating screens can provide longer service life due to the improved displacement of function of the exciter shaft, which has been achieved by giving the bearings a thin- layer chrome-plated bore. This coating is resistant to weather influences, water, vapour, alkaline solutions, photographic developers and some types of acids. It ensures reduced frictional corrosion between bearing bore and shaft and in most cases avoids it completely.

It improves wear behaviour of bearings operating in unlubricated condition or conditions of mixed friction.

The coating is bonded at molecular level to the base material and resists high loads.

The bearings' principal dimensions as well as their tolerances of form or position correspond to standard values.

A change of adjacent components is not required and the installation sequence can remain unchanged.

Vibrating screens are mainly used for sorting and classifying goods.

Along with other vibrating units, they belong to the most highly stressed types of machines.

Spherical roller bearings with the thin chromium plated bore ensure that the displacement between bearing bore and shaft is possible for a long period of operation.
