SwRI receives 2013 NACE International Distinguished Organization Award

Article Type: Industrial news From: Anti-Corrosion Methods and Materials, Volume 60, Issue 4

Southwest Research Institute (SwRI) received the prestigious NACE International Distinguished Organization Award, given by the leading professional society for the corrosion control industry, in recognition of outstanding contributions by an organization to the field of corrosion science or engineering.

The award recognizes organizations that have, over a sustained period of time, made outstanding contributions in the field of corrosion science or engineering, or have provided major technological contributions to either field. The Institute received the award at the NACE Annual Awards Banquet March 20, during the organization’s 68th Annual Conference, Corrosion 2013 in Orlando.

The Institute was recognized for its sustained contributions to both industry and government organizations in fundamental and applied aspects of corrosion science, corrosion life prediction, corrosion sensing and monitoring, corrosion testing and development of corrosion-resistant coatings.

SwRI has been actively engaged in the corrosion field for more than 40 years, supporting the oil and gas, petrochemical, pipeline, nuclear and aerospace industries, as well as civilian and defense agencies of the US Government and various foreign commercial and government organizations.
