Druck, a manufacturer of high-performance pressure measurement and control equipment, announce the receipt of a further major contract for the ADTS 405/F Flightline air data test system.

Awarded by the US Naval Warfare Centre to the Druck Group's US subsidiary company, Druck Incorporated, the initial contract for 262 instruments is valued at $8.3 million, including support elements.

Operating 44 types of aircraft ranging from the latest F-18/F fighter to the CH53D/E helicopter the US Navy rigorously tested the Druck product and proved its ability to meet the high levels of performance and flexibility required for their diverse range of operating criteria and environments.

The ADTS 405/F will be used in a variety of locations, from aircraft carrier decks to shore-based establishments, for the calibration and system verification of aircraft pilot statics. Vital instrumentation such as altimeters, airspeed indicators, rate of climb indicators, Mach meters and air data computers can all be accurately and rapidly tested with the ADTS 405/F.

Fully self-contained in a rugged military-standard enclosure, the ADTS 405/F is a twin-channel, P static and P total pressure control system, complete with integral pressure/vacuum sources. Fully programmable for specific aircraft operating envelopes and desired test routines, the test system can be operated by one person seated in an aircraft cockpit using a remote, menu-driven hand terminal. Alternatively, the system may be operated from ground level, using the main instrument display/keypad.

Druck's ADTS 405/F air data test system has been ordered in volume by the US Navy for testing their entire fleet of aircraft, ranging from the CH53D/F helicopter to the latest F-18E/F (pictured)

The operating envelope for altitudes, Mach and vertical speeds is such that helicoptors through to high-speed fighter aircraft are covered to meet the specified accuracy levels better than 10ft altitude, two knots airspeed and 0.05 Mach. Protection against "over limit" damage to the aircraft instruments under test can be programmed in by the operator. Pre-ordained test routines can also be programmed direct into the air data test system to reduce the need for manual test documentation.
