Associate Professor Jill McKinnon died in June 2008 after a long battle with cancer. Over her academic career, she wrote or co-wrote some 50 research journal articles and books, and was widely regarded as a leading international expert on Japanese accounting and cross-cultural accounting. She was a strong contributor to the Accounting Research Journal and many other journals through editorial board membership and reviewing. Her co-authors acknowledge Jill’s invaluable contribution to this paper and the research leading thereto.
