Inspection bodies for protected geographical indications and designations of origin
The Commission has published in the Official Journal of the 30 October 1998 a listing of inspection structures notified by the Member States in accordance with Article 10(2) of Regulation (EEC) No 2081/92 on the protection of geographical indications and designations of origin for agricultural products and foodstuffs.
The purpose is to provide information on the inspection bodies notified by the Member States for each geographical indication or designation of origin registered under Regulation (EEC) No 2081/92. The publication is an addition to the previous list as published on page three of Official Journal of the European Communities C 317 dated 26 October 1996 and on page two of Official Journal of the European Communities C 200 dated 26 June 1998.
The Commission notes that it has been drawn up on the basis of the initial data supplied by the Member States and that it is likely to undergo further amendments.
