Amir M. Sharif is currently a Business Analyst within the Equities IT division of UBS Warburg, in London, principally involved in designing and developing business systems for the Equities business. He has also held a position as a Management/IT Consultant with KPMG Consulting, UK, where his role involved providing business advice and technical consultancy to many leading national and multinational organisations. Amir obtained his BEng (Hons) in Aeronautical Engineering from City University, London in 1994 and is currently finishing his PhD in Computer Science in the Department of Information Systems and Computing at Brunel University, UK. Over the years, Amir has also held numerous teaching posts both at Brunel University and as a Visiting Lecturer for the University of London, lecturing on subjects such as Software Engineering, Knowledge Systems, and Java programming. Amir has a keen interest in Information Systems Management and Evaluation, eBusiness, Organisational Learning and Artificial Intelligence. He has published research and has also been a committee member on several international and national peer-reviewed journals and conferences. As such, Amir is also frequently called upon to evaluate research proposals for grant governing bodies such as the European Union and the Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council (EPSRC) in the UK.
