Approaching the five year anniversary of the Baltic Journal of Management

Article Type: Editorial From: Baltic Journal of Management, Volume 5, Issue 1

Volume 5 Issue 1 opens the fifth year of the Baltic Journal of Management (BJM). Looking back: when we started, BJM received very few paper submissions as a result of the undeveloped trust of the researchers, and only 1,000 articles downloads per year. Recently, as a five year old international research journal with growing rejection rate and nearly 20,000 downloads per year, it proves that there was a gap in the region for a management research journal of international repute.

For the following year our strategy remains the same. We will continue to improve the quality and relevance of the papers published in the BJM, and we look to build the journal's social network and openness to new cooperation.

In this issue, you will find a number of papers on a range of management challenges such as change management, management orientation, corruption, human resource management, organisational development, marketing and leadership. Bärbel Lauser, “Post-merger integration and change processes from a complexity perspective”; Carl Arthur Solberg and Ulf H. Olsson, “Management orientation and export performance: the case of Norwegian ICT companies”; Alex Kouznetsov and Mohan Dass, “Does size matter? A qualitative study into areas of corruption where a firm's size influences prospects for distributors of foreign-made goods in Russia”; Vaiva ZuzeviČiu¯tu and Margarita TereseviČienu, “The role of a human resource manager as a facilitator of learning: some evidence from Lithuania”; Maris Zernand-Vilson and Tiit Elenurm, “Differences in implementing management and organization development directions between domestic and foreign companies in Estonia”; Andrus Kotri and Brent McKenzie, “Mass customization and system development: case findings from the packaging industry” and Kurmet Kivipõld and Maaja Vadi, “A measurement tool for the evaluation of organizational leadership capability”.

Geographically papers cover Austria, Norway, Russia, Lithuania, Estonia and Canada offering a truly international perspective of the research objects analysed. We hope you enjoy the issue!
