IPC-2615: the definitive standard on printed board dimensions and tolerances

Keywords IPC, Standards

IPC have released IPC-2615, Printed Board Dimensions and Tolerances. This document replaces one of IPC's earliest standards (IPC-D-300G, Printed Board Dimensions and Tolerances), and is devoted specifically to dimensions and tolerances of printed wiring boards and printed board assemblies.

PC-2615 is in-sync with other IPC standards, such as IPC-2221, Generic Standard on Printed Board Design. The new document includes:

  • fundamental dimensioning and tolerancing rules

  • positional tolerance;

  • profiles/controls and tolerancing;

  • orientation and form tolerances;

  • detailed geometric symbology.

This new standard also encompasses more than 100 new and revised illustrations, provided to help achieve the most efficient board designs in the industry. For more information on IPC-2615, contact Perry at 847 790 5318; johnperry@ipc.org, or visit the IPC Web site www.ipc.org
