International Circuit Buyers Forum merges with EMSworld

Following it's recent success and to reflect the changes in the Printed Circuit and EMS industries, InfoCircuit has announced the merger of the International Circuit Buyers Forum (ICBF) and the new show EMSworld.

The International Circuit Buyers Forum, which debuted in Maastricht, Holland in 1999, is a unique event that brings together the world's most influential PCB buyers with PCB manufacturers. It offers a package, which includes a conference, focused on the needs of PCB buyers, a factory tour, a tutorial and an exhibition of the world's most important PCB manufacturers. Buyers already registered for the event have a combined spend of well over $3 billion and this continues to grow.

EMSworld is the first global event focused on the Electronic Manufacturing Services industry. Following a similar format to ICBF, it will include a conference, workshops, factory tours and an exhibition to provide a unique meeting place for this exciting and fast moving industry.

The merging of these two events seems a natural fit with buyers and sellers now crossing over from PCB to EMS and vice versa. These two markets are now so closely linked that they share many common customers and suppliers as well as many challenges in terms of globalisation, mergers and technological pressures.

The new event will be held in California in February 2001 and will replace the International Circuit Buyers Forum, originally scheduled for August 2000. It is anticipated that the combination of the two events at one venue will result in more value for both exhibitors and visitors.
