Orbotech S.A. have announced the signing of a major agreement with INBOARD Leiterplatten-technologie GmbH & Co. KG, a Siemens Company, which includes an order for multiple InSpire-9000TM Series automated optical inspection ("AOI") systems for outer layer inspection. With the installation of these additional systems, Inboard will have invested a total of over 8.5 million DM in InSpire-9000 TM Series technology for inspection and verification of inner and outer layers at their Karlsruhe, Germany printed circuit board ("PCB") production operation.
This major agreement also involves technology cooperation, the exchange of roadmap information and a preferred supplier arrangement for inspection, imaging and computer-aided manufacturing ("CAM").
The company has also announced the receipt of two major orders from The Bureau Electronics Group, a division of The Bureau of Engraving, Inc., totalling over $3.1 million in value, for multiple V-309I-AP automated optical inspection ("AOI") systems and a LP-7008EF laser plotter. With this additional equipment, The Bureau will have a total of 12 Vision-300 series AOI systems and multiple Orbotech laser plotters installed in its Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA printed circuit board manufacturing facility.
