Lloyd Doyle announced a major new investment of over e2 million. The multinational Ruwel Group has recently confirmed an order for a total of six automatic optical test systems from the EXCALIBUR range.

The Lloyd Doyle systems will be installed at a brand new multilayer production plant in Geldern, Germany. This plant is due to begin production in the summer of 2001 and is set to become the most modern PCB production facility in Europe. The Lloyd Doyle systems will be used for a wide range of production applications including complex inner layers. "Lloyd Doyle has the fastest and most flexible equipment available for the examination of bare board PCBs", commented Ruwel's production manager Jos van Kempen. "The AOT logic brings test and inspection closer together leading to increased yields at electrical test."

CMR Circuits Ltd located in Montreal, Quebec, Canada, already an existing customer, has also taken delivery of two EXCALIBUR 5000X systems with 7.5-micron resolution. CMR circuits produces prototype and quick turn high-end printed circuits boards for high tech applications in the telecommunications, aerospace and complex computers sectors. The commitment to deliver high quality products in the shortest lead-time is an increasingly important factor in their growth strategy.

More recently, the company has announced that it has again expanded its already strong customer base in Korea.

Q&Tech of BuCheon City has placed an order for two EXCALIBUR 5000X2 automatic optical test systems for its multilayer plant. The machine installation forms part of a major update of its existing facility and supports a move by Q&Tech to concentrate production on high layer count multilayer PCBs.

Digitech, of Incheon City, has also ordered two EXCALIBUR 5000X2 systems. One single camera and one dual camera system will shortly be installed at Digitech's new plant.
