Polyclad introduces laser drillable laminate and prepreg system

Polyclad Laminates Inc. has introduced TURBO™ 371 laser drillable laminate and prepreg system. The enhanced E-glass reinforced FR-4 materials are specifically engineered for demanding high density interconnect (HDI) applications requiring laser drilled HDI layers.

The new system utilizes proprietary glass cloth weaving technology that provides unmatched laser drilling performance. The advanced epoxy resin technology delivers substantially enhanced thermal performance and reliability versus all other high Tg FR-4 materials currently available today.

TURBO 371 system features a 175°C glass transition temperature (Tg) and is ideally suited for lead-free assembly and applications requiring multiple soldering steps. The environmentally friendly substrate provides ultra-fast cure rates that have enabled PWB fabricators to reduce press cycle times by 30% and more.

UL listed, the materials are compatible with all commonly used FR-4 fabrication process techniques. Mechanical, chemical and moisture resistance, laser fluorescing and UV blocking properties easily meet or exceed the performance of competitive FR-4 materials.
