PPC Electronic AG is now directly represented in the USA. The firm manufactures system cards/ backplanes with more than 50 layers and maximum length of up to 1.345 mm. For several years, PPC Electronic AG has been working very intensively on optical transmission technology to transport and process large volumes of data. Future transmission speeds in the terabit range will increasingly bring conventional methods up to their physical limits.

To meet these challenges, development activities are under way for the "OPTOBOARD^®", a product of the future which has also met with great interest from leading American technology corporations. This was one of the reasons why PPC Electronic AG decided to build up a sales and distribution network in the USA.

Two experienced and knowledgeable figures in the American telecoms and electronic industries have been recruited: Mike Kallbrier (see Plate 1) and Selmark Associates Inc. (Dave Morrison, Jim Beauchamp) (Plates 2 and 3). The goal of their activities is to make the outstanding technological abilities of PPC Electronic AG available to customers in the USA. Mike Kallbrier (Exclusive Representative) will be responsible for the Western USA while Selmark Associates Inc. (Dave Morrison, Jim Beauchamp) will be looking after the Eastern States. As time goes on, the USA market is set to become an important strategic cornerstone for PPC Electronic AG.
