First fast PCB rolls off Speedboard’s Kwik process

Windsor-based PCB manufacturer Speedboard has turned out its first customer board on its fast turn Kwikboard™ prototyping system – in less than 24 h and for free!

The bare prototype PCB was manufactured in less than 4 h directly from the customer’s CAD file using the new Kwikboard system undergoing evaluation at Speedboard. Next the double sided board was screen printed using a Kapton® stencil produced in just 30 min on the Kwikboard machine, then assembled in Speedboard’s fast turn surface mount assembly shop and delivered to the customer within 24 h. The compact Kwikboard machine integrates sophisticated micro etching, curing and drilling phases. The dry process uses cured conductive polymers for interconnect and eliminates photo tool time and costs.

As part of its Kwikboard evaluation initiative, Speedboard is offering all its customers the opportunity to trial the innovative system free of charge on the first job.
