Cadalist-enterprises, LLC announces a new software tool, DOCTAR – Design Object Compare Tool and Reporter, for validating design changes throughout the board product design and manufacturing lifecycle.

The software compares two design databases and reports differences in logical, physical and manufacturing levels. It reports missing or changed packages, pin lists, test points, package tolerances and values, x/y locations and connectivity. It can be used for hardware design and sub-design reviews, ECO documentation, PCB cost estimation, and for ensuring compliance with DFM and DFT standards, especially when managing outsourced design/ manufacturing resources.

DOCTAR supports ALLEGRO and PADS netlists as input, with planned support for ORCAD and Mentor netlists. Reports are output in HTML web-browser and Excel formats, and includes high-level design change summary as well as detailed reporting to component/net level. Software supports Windows NT/2000/XP operating systems.

Availability and Licensing

Software licenses prices are expected to start at around $1,500. Pre-release beta versions are available for download at www.cadalist-enterprises.com/applications/doctar/index.htm

Companies participating in the final phase of beta field testing will be given software free of charge for 2 months and will have direct access to the Cadalist software development team. Special pre-release pricing will be made available for all beta testers prior to the production release.
