In October 2003, the two companies HMS Höllmüller and Ormecon GmbH formed a partnership that meets the highest requirements for a successful co-operation of the immersion tin process technology for the PCB surfaces.

HMS, as a leading process-oriented equipment manufacturer, has built the most horizontal immersion tin lines in the world. "Over the last 9 years we have been able to gather extensive experience, to continuously improve our machine designs and to put them successfully into production," says Joe Kresky, Managing Director of HMS Höllmüller.

Ormecon International, on the other hand, has the world's largest customer base in this market segment. Included in the total of over 130 customers, of which 15 have horizontal systems, are Samsung, Siemens, Würth Elektronik as well as Markus Hofstetter in Switzerland who produces panels for AT&S, Viasystems and Siemens, among others. Since 1996, Ormecon GmbH has been dealing successfully with a new chemical to produce a tin coating based on an organic metal.

The company has recently taken over the chemical business of Cimatec in Germany and the immersion tin business of Florida CirTech- based in the USA. Out of this the Ormecon International Group has been established. The company has continuously improved the process and has accordingly created an international platform for itself. "Ormecon International supplies processes which guarantee a storage- stable, solderable surface finish with a wide process window and unbeatable processing stability. This applies in particular to ORMECON CSN, which is innately very low- whisker, as well as to UNICRON," says Sabine Schröder, Product Manager at Ormecon.
