Rohm and Haas announces corporate gift for Tsunami survivors

Rohm and Haas Company has announced plans to give $200,000 to the International Response Fund of the American Red Cross. The donation will benefit persons affected by the catastrophic tsunamis in and surrounding South Asian countries.

A corporate gift of $100,000 will be given to the International Response Fund of the American Red Cross. An additional $100,000 will be given to match worldwide employee contributions for any qualified relief agency that employees choose retroactive from 26 December 2004 to 31 March 2005. The company match will be given to the International Response Fund of the American Red Cross.

Rohm and Haas is reporting that all employees in the Asia-Pacific region are safe and that no operations have been directly affected by this disaster. Rohm and Haas has 22 manufacturing sites and 13 technical service and research operations in ten countries in the Asia- Pacific region.

“At a time like this words seem inadequate to describe the deep sadness felt by us at Rohm and Haas. Contributing in some way to this massive natural disaster is the compassionate and right thing to do”, Raj Gupta, Rohm and Haas Chairman and CEO, said.
