Abstract

The notion of Quality Circles has received widespread attention in recent years as a method of increasing the involvement of employees in the planning of their work and in making decisions which affect their working conditions and practices. Quality Circles are intended to utilise the knowledge and experience of employees. They should encourage employees to share responsibility for the end result. They should strengthen employees' commitment to change processes which they themselves have helped to generate.
