Non‐Executive Directorships — A Message to the Chairmen
Abstract
This article represents the fruits of my investigations over the last year and a half into the hows and whys of appointments to non‐executive directorships. As with public appointments, it is obvious that having one's name on computerized talent banks does not necessarily lead to the desired appointment, or indeed to any appointment at all. Where non‐executive directors are increasingly sought after and difficult to find, expanding the search to the majority of the population (women) makes sense both for boards and for women themselves.
