Coating of North Sea gas pipelines

Abstract

Anti‐corrosion protection of large diameter North Sea gas pipes is big business and for Wailes Dove Bitumastic Ltd. of Hebburn, Co. Durham, it has meant contracts from the Gas Council totalling almost £2 million over a period of eighteen months. This report describes the pipe coating technique carried out by the company.
