TEMPORARY PROTECTIVES AND THE DEVELOPMENT OF AN IMPROVED COMPOSITION
Abstract
Reduced to simple terms, corrosion is concerned with a two part system — a solid substrate and its environment. Methods of preventing or reducing corrosion centre around moderating the effect of the environment (usually by a suitable coating on the substrate surface) or by replacement of the particular solid with another material on which the corrosive environment has a lower effect, e.g. more resistant steel, plastics, etc.
