Japanese Giants Surge Into Vietnam

Abstract

Think of a Japanese company, and the likelihood is that it has recently invested heavily in Vietnam. Japanese manufacturers expect strong economic development in Vietnam, based on a steadily improving infrastructure and the ready availability of skilled workers. The belief that Vietnam will eventually enter Asean, the Association of South East Asian Nations, is also attracting foreign companies. Consumer appliances, electronics and cars are particular focuses of attention.
