Abstract

There are many articles, papers and books on leadership qualities and their application in business management. Almost daily, new theories are proposed which will make the manager instantly successful. Seminars abound at which the guru of the moment propounds his theories to ranks of bright‐faced executives seeking the truth. But is there any dramatic change in company management? it would appear that there is an acute danger of a credibility gap developing, if it has not already formed, between some management theories and the actual realities of developing management within the “average company”.
