Abstract

Because the computer is something of a universal machine, there are few practical contexts it does not support. The fields of education and training are among the most vital and absorbing of these. Here the microcomputer has come into its own. Economic, portable and easy to use, the micro has set teachers and lecturers free from dependence on the centralised restrictions of largely administrative mini and mainframe systems.
