Abstract

For economic reasons it is most essential that oil refineries should remain on stream for as long a period as possible. However, shut‐downs for inspection purposes are nevertheless imperative, but it is again necessary that these be kept to a minimum. One of the most important factors in postponing shut‐downs is the elimination of corrosion and erosion. In this series of articles the whole question of corrosioti in the oil industry is discussed by two authorities.
