Abstract

For equipment operating under extremely high‐temperature and corrosive service conditions, protection is at a premium in the constant effort to reduce maintenance costs. Now, protection is available for such equipment with the commercial introduction of the fluorocarbon polymers (e.g. polytetrafluoro‐ethylene)—chemically inert, high‐temperature‐resistant materials which may be applied by spraying, dipping or spreading to a broad variety of metallic and non‐metallic surfaces.
