Abstract

CORROSION on the water side of coolers and condensers can be a source of much trouble and economic loss, especially if it causes the set to be taken out of service for lengthy periods. Moreover, corrosion of a cooler can introduce impurities into the product. In order to recognise the type of corrosion encountered in coolers and condensers, it is necessary to know the location of the corrosion attack and the appearance of the material attacked.
