Abstract

Bending Aluminium. The Aluminium Development Association. Aluminium is one of the most workable of the common metals, easily manipulated in most forms available. This information bulletin (No. 24) deals with the more usual bending operations, excluding stretch forming and the uncommon bending techniques used for special components. Explanation of the factors in bending upon which designs and manufacturing techniques may be based, is followed by descriptions of the bending operations, which differ little from those for other metals. Sufficient data are given to guide users on the potentialities of aluminium and on the effective choice of purity or alloy and temper or condition for constructions where bending is required.
