Abstract

This aeroplane may be used as helicopter (FIG. 1) or as fixed wing aeroplane. When used as helicopter the torque of the airscrew 1 is compensated by the wings 4, 5 revolving in the opposite direction. The engine 2 is mounted in a fork 3 rotating about the normal axis of the aeroplane. The inner parts 5 of the wings are turned, so that the slipstream of the air‐screw 1 supports the rotation of the wing, while the outer parts 4 are used as a second helicopter screw. The trailing edge of one of the wing parts 4 can be converted into a leading edge and vice versa by alternately inflating rubber tubes 12 situated at both edges, as shown in FIG. 2. When air is let out of the filled tube and the other one is inflated, the upper half 10 of the wing part 4 swings around the axis 11, the inflated tube forming the new leading edge.
