Research and Test Apparatus

Abstract

Tiltman Langley Ltd. (originally Tiltman Langley Laboratories Ltd.) was established in 1947 to undertake research work into the basic strengths of materials for the Royal Aircraft Establishment, Farnborough. The results of this work, which are embodied in ‘Design Requirements for Aircraft for the Royal Air Force and Royal Navy, Av.P.970’, have been used in the structural stressing of all British aircraft, both military and civil, now in first‐line service.
