Abstract

Politicians are elected to serve their constituencies; those who vote for them believe that they will improve conditions in the country, thereby improving the quality of the voters' lives. In the same way, executives are chosen to lead companies because stakeholders believe that they will make the companies more efficient and more profitable, thereby improving their strategic positions.
