TERALIB: a library housekeeping system

Abstract

Developed initially for the University of Essex Library, where it has been in operation since Easter, 1990, TERALIB is a modular library housekeeping system based on Release 6 of the relational database system INGRES. TERALIB has been designed for use by people who may have no computer or keyboard skills, and who may be unfamiliar with library jargon. Brief instructions and a menu of options appear on every screen, with more detailed online help always available.
